Testimonials

Jim Bennitt’s unique combination of expertise and experience in both wrestling and yoga offers incredible injury prevention and physical recovery to wrestlers, BJJ practitioners, and grapplers. Jim was quickly able to pinpoint physical limitations due to my many years of wrestling and teach me key yoga postures and breathing awareness. This greatly improved my hip mobility and back pain. My body and my wrestling would have greatly benefited from Jim’s insight and yoga as part of a training regimen from the start.
— Sean Bormet, Wrestling Coach, University of Michigan
Jim Bennitt’s teaching has changed the way I approach my yoga practice. Jim along with his teaching staff has refocused my awareness on my anatomy and breathing as I enter and transition through each asanas. I love that Jim is inclusive of his students as everyone is in a different place in their yoga journey. His attentiveness, with his adjustments and kind reminders to control breathing makes his classes engaging and encouraging. The Tejas yoga program is a true asset in my overall health and my competitive Jiu Jitsu career.
— Kristen Martin, IBJJF brown belt world champion

In 2012, at the age of 40, Jim felt something in his life was lacking. After a twenty year hiatus, he began to miss the art of grappling and the camaraderie that comes along with it. A friend directed him to one of the most respected Brazilian Jiu Jitsu dojos in the midwest, Brazil021, founded by BJJ legends Professor Andre Terencio and Hannette Stack. Since then, he has decided to divide his time equally between jiu jitsu and yoga. Learn more >>
